Job summary

Sodexo is hiring a Cook at our site in Nottingham for the National Probation Services, Trent House, NG3 4JF. In this essential lone‑working role you will prepare and cook high‑quality meals for residents and staff in a fixed location, ensuring safe, nutritious and welcoming meals.

You will manage all aspects of food production at the site, work independently to deliver meals that meet residents' needs while adhering to food safety standards and site protocols.

Qualifications

• Previous experience in a cooking or catering role is essential.
• Knowledge of food safety and kitchen procedures.
• Excellent communication and customer service skills, with the ability to work independently.
• Strong organisational skills and the ability to manage time and tasks efficiently while working alone.
• Positive, independent, and team‑oriented attitude, with willingness to follow direction when needed.

Responsibilities

• Independently prepare and cook a variety of meals according to scheduled menus for residents and staff.
• Manage your own schedule and kitchen operations, ensuring meals are prepared and served on time with minimal supervision.
• Maintain high standards of food safety, cleanliness, and hygiene in all areas, including the kitchen and dining spaces.
• Restock essential kitchen supplies like ingredients, utensils, and cleaning products.
• Communicate with site staff and other departments as needed, providing updates and ensuring smooth operations.
• Adhere to health and safety protocols at all times, ensuring compliance while working alone.

£12.91 per hour
