Job summary

Co Active Limited in Plymouth is seeking a reliable Chef/Cook to join our care home team for weekend shifts. You will share responsibility for running the kitchen, plan, prep and cook nutritious meals for residents, and ensure hygiene and safety standards.

Weekend role requires flexibility and a caring approach to meet dietary needs and cultural preferences, with shifts 9:30 am to 5:30 pm. You will work alongside staff to maintain smooth kitchen operations and contribute to high-quality resident

Responsibilities

• Independently plan, prepare, and cook nutritious meals for residents
• Share overall responsibility for the smooth running and organisation of the kitchen
• Ensure continuity and consistency in meal quality, standards, and routines between shifts
• Cater for residents’ dietary, nutritional, and cultural needs
• Maintain a clean, safe, and organised kitchen environment at all times
• Follow all food hygiene, health & safety, and infection control procedures
• Monitor stock, manage supplies, and minimise food waste
• Complete all required kitchen documentation (temperature checks, cleaning schedules, etc.)
• Undertake additional cleaning and kitchen support duties as required
