Job summary

Cygnet Healthcare is recruiting a Weekend Cook to join the team at Cygnet Conifers. The role involves preparing and serving meals for patients, staff and visitors in a residential care setting. You will liaise with nursing staff to meet nutritional needs and ensure kitchen cleanliness.

The successful candidate will be a skilled chef, hold a basic food hygiene certificate, and demonstrate professionalism, initiative and good communication. DBS check will be required.

Qualifications

• A skilled chef, preferably with experience in the care sector.
• Holder of a basic food hygiene certificate, with good personal hygiene standards.
• Polite and professional, with a positive attitude to internal & external tasks.
• An excellent communicator able to liaise with people at all levels.
• Able to work on your own initiative, as part of a team and under supervision.

Responsibilities

• Prepare, cook & serve nutritional, balanced and appetising meals for patients, staff & visitors
• Liaise with nursing colleagues to meet patients' nutritional & dietary needs
• Ensure the cleanliness of the kitchen, service areas & dining room
• Supervise kitchen staff when deputising for the Head Chef
• Maintain personal hygiene to comply with Cygnet standards and food hygiene regulations
• Handle, maintain & store kitchen equipment in accordance with Cygnet procedures
• Use chemicals in line with COSHH regulations.

Cygnet Healthcare is looking for an experienced Weekend Cookto join our team working at Cygnet Conifers.

You'll be working16 hours a week(Saturday and Sunday, 8 hour shifts, 8am - 4pm),making a positive difference to the lives of the people in our care atCygnet Conifers.

The Conifers is a 7 bed, specialist residential home providing outcome focused care for adults with a primary diagnosis of learning disabilities, autism and complex needs.

Your Day-to-Day...

• Prepare, cook & serve nutritional, balanced and appetising meals for patients, staff & visitors
• Liaise with nursing colleagues to meet patients' nutritional & dietary needs
• Ensure the cleanliness of the kitchen, service areas & dining room
• Supervise kitchen staff when deputising for the Head Chef

• Use chemicals in line with Control of Substances Hazardous to Health (COSHH) regulations.
