Job summary

Cygnet Healthcare is looking for an experienced Cook to join our team at Cygnet Willow House in Birmingham. You’ll work 16 hours a week, Saturday and Sunday, preparing nutritionally balanced meals for patients, staff and visitors.

We’re seeking a skilled chef with care sector experience, holding a basic food hygiene certificate and strong personal hygiene standards. You will liaise with nursing staff to meet dietary needs and supervise kitchen staff when needed.

Qualifications

• Skilled chef with care sector experience preferred.
• Holder of a basic food hygiene certificate.
• Polite, professional with a positive attitude.
• Excellent communicator able to liaise at all levels.
• Able to work on your own initiative and as part of a team.

Responsibilities

• Prepare, cook & serve meals for patients, staff & visitors.
• Liaise with nursing colleagues to meet dietary needs.
• Ensure the cleanliness of the kitchen, service areas & dining room.
• Supervise kitchen staff when deputising for the Head Chef.
• Maintain hygiene and follow COSHH/food safety regulations.
