Job summary

J Barbour & Sons Ltd is seeking a Weekend Catering Assistant to join our Bedesway Warehouse Canteen on a 10-hour part-time permanent basis. The role supports catering services over the weekend at our South Shields site, with shifts 1:30pm–6:30pm on Saturdays and Sundays.

You will handle serving tea, coffee, soft drinks and light bites, stock vending machines, process payments, and keep records in line with Health & Safety guidelines.

Qualifications

• Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
• Experience in a similar role would be an advantage but not essential.
• Smart appearance and professional demeanor.

Responsibilities

• Serve tea, coffee, soft drinks, and light bites to staff on Saturdays and Sundays.
• Stock and rotate vending machines as needed.
• Process payments and bank monies securely as required.
• Maintain records and checks in line with Health & Safety guidelines.
• Support catering requests for meetings when requested.

Job description

We are looking for a Weekend Catering Assistant to join our Bedesway Warehouse Canteen on a 10-hour part time Permanent basis. This role will be key to assisting in the provision of catering services over the weekend in our South Shields Warehouse. Essential Duties and Responsibilities:

• Services provided every Saturday and Sunday are to be made promptly, efficiently and speedily
• Responsible for the provision of tea, coffee, soft drinks, confectionery and a palatable variety of sandwiches and light bites /teas are to be made available to any member of staff who requires that service
• To arrange for the vending machines to be adequately stocked from time to time
• Upon receipt of timely catering request forms to serve at meetings when requested
• After receiving payment, administer written records, all monies to be kept safe and banked in a secure fashion as agreed from time to time with the Finance Director
• Stock ordering & rotation
• Completing all checks/updating all records in line with Health & Safety guidelines
• Undertake any other reasonable activity, as may be required by senior management, Working hours will cover Saturdays and Sundays.
• Contract available:
• 1:30pm - 6:30pm Saturday & Sunday
• This role will be based in the Barbour Bedesway Distribution Centre.
  Experience within a similar role would be an advantage but not essential
• A valid Food Hygiene Certificate is desirable
