Job summary

Barbour is seeking a Weekend Catering Assistant for the Bedesway Warehouse Canteen in South Shields. This 10-hour part-time permanent role covers Saturdays and Sundays from 1:30pm to 6:30pm.

You will support catering services over the weekend and ensure smooth operation of the canteen in the distribution centre. Ideal candidates will have some catering experience and a Food Hygiene Certificate is desirable.

Qualifications

• Experience in a similar role is advantageous but not essential.
• Excellent verbal and written communication skills are required.
• Competent level of customer service skills.
• Smart appearance.

Responsibilities

• Services provided every Saturday and Sunday are to be delivered promptly, efficiently and speedily.
• Provide tea, coffee, soft drinks, confectionery and a variety of sandwiches and light bites; teas available to staff.
• Arrange for vending machines to be stocked as needed.
• Serve at meetings on catering request forms when requested.
• Administer records and bank monies securely as agreed with Finance Director.
• Stock ordering and rotation.
• Complete all checks and update records in line with Health & Safety guidelines.
• Undertake other reasonable duties as required by senior management.

This is a Permanent , Part Time vacancy.

The Vacancy

Position Overview:

We are looking for a Weekend Catering Assistant to join our Bedesway Warehouse Canteen on a 10-hour part time Permanent basis. This role will be key to assisting in the provision of catering services over the weekend in our South Shields Warehouse.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities:

• Services provided every Saturday and Sunday are to be made promptly, efficiently and speedily
• Responsible for the provision oftea, coffee, soft drinks, confectionery and a palatable variety of sandwiches and light bites /teas are to be made available to any member of staff who requires that service
• To arrange for the vending machines to be adequately stocked from time to time
• Upon receipt of timely catering request forms to serve at meetings when requested
• After receiving payment, administer written records, all monies to be kept safe and banked in a secure fashion as agreed from time to time with the Finance Director
• Stock ordering & rotation
• Completing all checks/updating all records in line with Health & Safety guidelines
• Undertake any other reasonable activity, as may be required by senior management

Skills and Experience:
