Job summary

Bupa seeks a part-time Receptionist for Shockerwick House Care Home, Bath. The role is 20 hours per week with weekend cover, offering a supportive environment in a historic care setting.

You will be the first point of contact for visitors, manage enquiries, provide on‑site and phone assistance, and support daily clerical tasks for the Home Manager. Good customer service and a friendly, organised approach are essential.

Qualifications

• You’ve worked as a receptionist before with experience in providing excellent customer service.
• You’ll have a friendly manner both face to face and over the phone.
• You’re approachable and organised and can build strong relationships with our residents, their families and internal teams.
• Dedicated and efficient with an ability to handle a varied workload, but importantly, your caring attitude underpins everything you do - to make a real difference to people’s lives.

Responsibilities

• Acting as the first point of contact for all visitors to the home
• Taking responsibility for managing new enquiries
• Providing advice and support both face to face and over the phone
• Conducting show‑arounds within the care home
• Supporting the Home Manager and Administrator with clerical duties such as maintaining paperwork and filing
• Dealing with enquiries in a timely manner and ensuring daily and weekly tasks are completed
