Job summary

Quality Service Recruitment Limited is seeking experienced Care Assistants for weekend cover in the Ripley area. The role involves supporting an elderly care home with dementia residents, following care plans and maintaining high health and safety standards. DBS up-to-date and infection control/training are required, with ad-hoc weekend shifts available.

Hours vary by day: Early 06:45–14:30, Late 14:15–22:00, Nights 21:45–07:00. Pay is £13.50–£14.00 per hour for weekend days and nights.

Responsibilities

• Following personal care plans
• Maintaining health and safety standards and complying with requirements of the home
• General housekeeping and domestic duties
• Reporting condition updates and recording fluid intakes
• Helping patients remain as independent as possible and catering to their likes and dislikes
• Assisting with daily living activities including morning and night-time routines
• Working alongside support workers and care workers to provide a complex care package tailored to individual needs
• Toileting/bed bathing and strip washing the service users

Earn up to £14.00 per hour as an experienced care assistant working weekends!

We are looking for Care Assistants local to the Ripley area to provide weekend cover at a care home within the rural area of Ripley. The home is surrounded by secure gardens just off a quiet road.

The home accommodates elderly service users, some of which may be suffering with dementia. The rooms are furnished to a high standard, and the residents are encouraged to bring their own items into the home to make their rooms more homely.

Duties include:

• Following personal care plans
• Maintaining health and safety standards and complying with requirements of the home
• General housekeeping and domestic duties
• Reporting condition updates and recording fluid intakes
• Helping patients remain as independent as possible and catering to their likes and dislikes
• Assisting with daily living activities including morning and night-time routines
• Working alongside support workers and care works to provide a complex care package tailored to individual needs
• Toileting/bed bathing and strip washing the service users

To demonstrate your experience and suitability for the role of Care Assistant you will need:

• An Enhanced DBS dated within the last 12 months
• Up to date Infection Control, Safeguarding Vulnerable Adults and Moving and Handling training
• A Referenceable work history
• At least 3 months experience within a formal care home setting

If you do not have a valid DBS and/or training, do not worry as we can help you with this. We are happy to offer online training available at a subsidised fee and the certificates are yours to keep!

This role is for ad-hoc shift cover based upon the needs of the home

We are looking for ad-hoc day and night cover over the weekend for sickness and holiday cover with typical hours being:

Early: 06:45 to 14:30

Late: 14:15 to 22:00

Nights: 21:45 to 07:00

The rate of pay for a Care Assistant will be:

Days – Saturday to Sunday £13.50 per hour

Nights – Saturday to Sunday £14.00 per hour
