Job summary

The Walled Garden Café in Tilgate Park, Crawley, is recruiting a Café Assistant to provide welcoming front of house service and high-quality food and beverages to local visitors and the community.

This zero-hours role is ideal for someone available during school holidays and weekends, with full training provided. Experience in food preparation, customer service and barista work is a plus, and the team emphasises safety, cleanliness and a friendly, collaborative approach.

Responsibilities

• Greet customers warmly and provide friendly, efficient service
• Take customer orders accurately and process payments
• Prepare and serve hot drinks
• Operate coffee machines and café equipment safely
• Maintain cleanliness of service areas, tables, and workstations
• Follow food safety, hygiene, and health & safety standards at all times
• Restock supplies
• Handle customer enquiries and resolve issues professionally
• Work collaboratively with team members during busy periods
• Open and close the café according to procedures (if required)

Job Purpose

As a Café Assistant you will provide a welcoming front of house service, providing excellent customer service and quality food and beverages to our local community and visitors .
