Job summary

Hawk Hiring LTD in Faringdon is seeking a skilled Vehicle Technician / Car Mechanic to join our independent service and workshop. You will work on a range of makes, performing servicing, repairs, and diagnostics with modern tools.

This role offers a £37,500–£42,500 basic salary, Monday–Friday 08:00–17:30, and weekends off, plus a company pension, on-site parking, and ongoing diagnostic training in a supportive, non-corporate environment.

Qualifications

• NVQ Level 2 or 3 in Light Vehicle Maintenance & Repair (or City & Guilds/IMI equivalent).
• Hands-on experience with timing belts/chains, clutch/gearbox replacements, and core mechanical overhauls.
• F‑Gas certification preferred or interest in obtaining it.

Responsibilities

• Perform scheduled servicing, routine maintenance, and safety inspections across a wide variety of makes and models.
• Execute mechanical repairs including clutch/gearbox work, timing belt/chain replacements, and major diagnosis.
• Utilise diagnostic tools and software to isolate, troubleshoot, and repair faults.
• Maintain precise digital job records and complete vehicle health checks; keep areas clean and organized.
• Collaborate with workshop team to ensure high repair standards and first‑time quality.
