Job summary

Avon Search is recruiting a Kitchen Assistant for a luxury 20-bed residential care home in Eastbourne. The role is part-time, 20 hours per week, with consistent weekday hours from 9:30am to 1:30pm. You will help the kitchen team prepare nutritious meals and maintain cleanliness to ensure a welcoming dining experience for elderly residents.

Experience in a kitchen or catering setting is desirable. Training in food hygiene is beneficial.

Qualifications

Responsibilities

• Assist the cook and kitchen team with meal preparation and service.
• Help prepare ingredients and undertake basic food preparation.
• Assist with serving meals and refreshments to residents.
• Ensure food is handled, stored and prepared safely.
• Maintain high standards of cleanliness and hygiene in the kitchen.
• Wash dishes and clean work surfaces and kitchen areas.
• Assist with receiving, checking and storing food deliveries.
• Support residents' dietary requirements and preferences.
