Job summary

Unity is hiring a Software Engineer for the Web Platform team to maintain and extend the Unity Web runtime inside browsers. You will work across C++, C#, and JavaScript, improving startup performance, load times, and download sizes while collaborating with engineers who helped shape browser technology.

You will grow by learning from experienced teammates, shipping features for real-time 3D content, and delivering reliable experiences to developers worldwide.

Qualifications

• Hands-on development experience with C++.
• Familiarity with C# and/or JavaScript.
• Curiosity about how browsers work under the hood.
• Ability to profile, debug and optimize native code.
• Strong written and verbal communication within a distributed, multi-functional team.
• Forward thinking and perseverance on complex low-level problems.

Responsibilities

• Maintain and extend the Unity Web runtime across the platform.
• Help improve download size, load time and startup performance of Web builds.
• Develop, profile, debug and optimize across C++, C# and JavaScript.
• Scope work with manager and teammates on established patterns.
• Investigate and fix issues raised by internal teams and developers.
• Stay updated with evolving browser capabilities and bring learnings back to the team.
