Job summary

Unite Students is seeking a Software Engineering Lead to shape the technical direction of its customer-facing platform. You will drive a transformation to a modern, headless, multi-brand architecture and own the Web Domain's architecture and standards.

You'll influence across internal teams and external partners to deliver high-quality, secure, scalable software with a focus on reliability during peak trading.

Qualifications

• Experience leading architecture and evolution of complex web platforms.
• Strong knowledge of JavaScript/TypeScript, Node.js and React/Next.js.
• Experience with APIs, cloud tech and AWS preferred.

Responsibilities

• Lead technical direction for the Web Domain architecture and roadmap.
• Shape a scalable, headless, multi-brand trading platform.
• Raise engineering standards with best practices and reusable patterns.
• Improve code quality, testing, CI/CD and release processes.
• Own platform reliability, security, observability and resilience.
• Manage AWS security, health, performance and cost.
• Collaborate with technology leaders to align decisions.
