Job summary

University of Bedfordshire is seeking a detail-oriented Web Assistant to manage new course uploads and ensure accurate, engaging content across the website based in Luton. You will work with academic departments to gather content and imagery, update pages via Umbraco CMS and align with templates and SEO best practices.

Collaborating with the Marketing team and Copywriter, you will conduct regular audits, fix broken links, ensure accessibility and GDPR compliance, and train staff on CMS usage

Qualifications

  • Degree-level education is required.
  • Experience in producing high-quality written and visual content.
  • Experience with content management systems and CMS updates.

Responsibilities

  • Manage the new course upload process and liaise with academic departments to submit information, copy and imagery.
  • Update information on the website feed using Umbraco CMS, following templates and SEO best practices.
  • Work with the Copywriter to ensure clear, on-brand content and tone of voice.
  • Conduct regular audits to fix broken links and outdated information.
  • Ensure accessibility, GDPR and CMA compliance for pages.
  • Maintain a central repository of content and train staff on basic CMS usage.
  • Monitor page performance to inform improvements and support open day promotions.
