Job summary

Heathcoat Fabrics Limited in Tiverton seeks a Process Operative for the Weaving department to ensure a steady supply of quality drawn-in warps by hand or machine and to prepare warps for loom transfer.

You will contribute to safety, efficiency and continuous improvement, with a 37.5-hour week and a shift pattern of 14:00-22:00, Monday to Friday, in a leading textile company known for innovation and impact.

Qualifications

• Departmental training and demonstrated competence in standard drawing-in activities.
• Ability to follow SOPs and Risk Assessments, attention to quality and detail, ability to complete associated records and system transactions accurately.
• Experience of different fabric types, drawing in or hand threading. Working within a manufacturing/production environment.

Responsibilities

• Draw-in all fabric types on the warp using hand or machine.
• Record jobs and issues on spreadsheets and perform Epicor transactions.
• Report health and safety issues to the line manager.
• Read, understand and comply with Risk Assessments (RAs).
• Work to the relevant SOPs at all times.
• Ensure 5S is followed and maintained within the work area.
• Ensure drawing-in parts are in good condition; escalate issues.
• Operate the drawing-in machine to standard activities.
