A leading council in Greater London is seeking a Compliance Officer for the Resident Services Team. The role focuses on providing a high-quality compliance service, supporting residents in tenancy management, and ensuring the safety and quality of housing environments. The officer will work closely with other departments and agencies to address issues affecting residents' well-being. Ideal candidates will possess strong advocacy and communication skills.
Compliance Officer (Resident Services)
Salary G5 £34,416- £37,536 pa - 36 hours per week - permanent position.
The Resident Services Team is responsible for assisting tenants to sustain their tenancies and promote their independence, quality of life, safeguarding, and health and well-being. This includes issues such as housing, welfare rights, personal finance, hoarding, tenancy management, mediation, life skills, and personal independence.
The role involves providing a high-quality housing management compliance service, addressing fire risk assessments, clutter, unauthorised items in communal areas, and storage areas within Havering Council’s social housing stock. The officer will advocate for and champion the needs of the borough.
Key responsibilities include supporting residents to maintain their homes and quality of life, advising on issues like hoarding and storage, and acting as the primary contact to ensure estates are well maintained and environments are high quality.
The officer will develop strong links with other council departments and external agencies to address issues such as access, fire risks, hoarding, and supporting vulnerable residents. Actions should be taken in line with tenancy agreements, leases, or legal remedies where necessary.
The role requires responding to Member inquiries, service requests, demands, and complaints, and working with agencies like the Police, London Fire Brigade, and other statutory partners to prevent and resolve anti-social behavior, nuisance, and environmental issues.
A full UK manual driving license is required.
