Havering Council is seeking a Compliance Officer for Resident Services to champion housing management compliance and support residents in sustaining their tenancies. This permanent role involves working closely with various council departments, responding to resident inquiries, and maintaining high-quality housing standards. Ideal candidates will possess strong communication skills and a full UK driving license.
Compliance Officer (Resident Services)
Salary G5 £34,416 - £37,536 pa - 36 hours per week - permanent position.
The Resident Services Team is responsible for assisting tenants to sustain their tenancies and encourage their independence, quality of life, safeguarding, and health and well-being on issues including housing, welfare rights, personal finance, hoarding, tenancy management, mediation, life skills, and promoting personal independence.
To provide a high-quality housing management compliance service, dealing with fire risk assessments, clutter, unauthorised items in communal and storage areas (including utility and other in-take cupboards) within Havering Council's social housing stock. To act as an advocate and champion for the borough.
Support residents to sustain their homes and improve their quality of life.
Provide advice and support on issues such as hoarding, storage areas within the stock, and mobility scooter storage.
Act as the principal point of contact for the service, ensuring the environment and condition of estates are high quality and well maintained.
Develop strong links with other council departments to provide solutions such as access, fire risk elimination, hoarding management, and supporting vulnerable residents. Take action in line with tenancy terms, leases, or legal remedies where relevant.
Respond to Members Enquiries, service requests, demands, and complaints as directed.
Collaborate with police, London Fire Brigade, statutory partners, council services, external partners, and enforcement agencies to prevent or resolve anti-social behavior, nuisance, and environmental issues.
Enforce breaches as deemed necessary.
You must have a full UK manual driving license.
