Nurse – Functional Assessor

Location: Preston

Annual salary: £39,500 + excellent benefits

Hours of work: Full or part time available, Monday to Friday 9am to 5pm, with hybrid working

About the role

You’ll carry out telephone, video, or face-to-face assessments to understand how a person's disability or health condition affects their daily life. You’ll listen, ask questions, and produce a factual report to help the Department for Work and Pensions (DWP) determine eligibility for benefits. We ensure you have sufficient time with each customer to provide a respectful and quality service.

Each assessment varies across different cases and conditions. We support you to manage your caseload efficiently and deliver excellent service. Our team combines integrity with extensive clinical knowledge to serve our customers effectively.

  • An NMC registered nurse with at least 1 year's broad post-registration experience.
  • Proactive and eager to learn.
  • Excellent oral and written communication skills.
  • Comfortable working towards individual and team targets in a supportive environment.
  • Experience working with diverse conditions, including mental health.
