Job summary

National Grid Electricity Distribution is seeking a Wayleaves Specialist in Gloucester for a temporary role up to 12 months. You will negotiate complex consents, wayleaves, easements and agreements for distribution assets, assess the impact of activities on customers and manage contractor work to ensure safety and compliance.

Ideal candidates will have RICS accreditation or legal background (paralegal experience helpful), strong negotiation and communication skills, and a valid driving licence.

Qualifications

• Evidence of qualifications required prior to appointment.
• Full and valid driving licence.
• Experience negotiating complex consents, wayleaves, easements and agreements.

Responsibilities

• Negotiate specialist consents, wayleaves, easements and agreements in respect of the location of distribution assets.
• Assessing the potential impact of a specific work activity on customers and advising customers affected of the impact of activities.
• Resolving customer complaints directly wherever possible.
• Investigating and reporting on estate related matters.
• Exercise leadership.
• Introduce new wayleaves, easements, consents and agreements techniques and methods.
• Train appropriate staff on the aspects of wayleaves, easements, consents and agreements.
• Keep abreast of estates related development.
• Assess site risks, and take action to remove or avoid those risks.
• Report any accident, injury, damage to property or near miss.
• Identify opportunities for improvement in performance and implement or recommend change.
• Issue work to contractors, and approve daily work sheets.
• Carry out quality and compliance checks on contractors works.
