Job summary

Trant Engineering Ltd. in Southampton is seeking an Assistant Process Design Engineer to join our IDS team and contribute to water and wastewater projects across the UK from feasibility to detailed design and construction support.

You will work with experienced engineers on water treatment, distribution, and wastewater systems, gaining hands-on experience and expanding your technical knowledge within a multidisciplinary environment.

Qualifications

• IChemE accredited degree or equivalent in Chemical/Process Engineering.
• Strong technical aptitude for process engineering and enthusiasm for the field.
• Good communication and teamwork skills; commitment to development.

Responsibilities

• Support Engineering Manager and Process Design Manager in delivering process engineering solutions across UK Water Projects.
• Coordinate and integrate process design activities within multi-disciplinary teams.
• Develop understanding of client requirements and project specs; produce fit-for-purpose solutions.
• Undertake process design calculations (mass balances, assessments).
• Assist in producing PFDs, P&IDs and supporting design docs.
• Contribute to technical reports and process control philosophies.
• Support installation and commissioning with technical guidance.
