Job summary

Trant Engineering is seeking a Senior Civil Design Engineer to join IDS and lead multi-disciplinary civil design activities for UK water projects within our Innovation, Design & Solutions department. The role focuses on delivering design across water treatment, distribution, and wastewater facilities in line with Eurocodes and client specifications.

You will manage design interfaces, mentor junior engineers, and collaborate with clients, partners and internal teams to ensure high-quality,

Qualifications

• CEng/IEng registration with a recognised UK institution (e.g. ICE).
• BSc/MSc in Civil Engineering discipline.
• Significant experience delivering multi-disciplined engineering projects in the UK water/wastewater industry.
• Broad knowledge of industry standards, legislation and engineering principles.
• Capable of managing multiple projects in a dynamic environment.

Responsibilities

• Interpret, understand & challenge project requirements from Client documents.
• Develop Civil detail design deliverables to eurocodes and client specifications.
• Survey specifications/datasheets (Topographical, Ground Investigation, etc.).
• Design calculations (Concrete, steel, hydraulic, foundations, temporary works).
• Design sketches using AutoCAD AEC software collection.
