Job summary

Kintec Global Recruitment is seeking an experienced engineer to lead design and engineering delivery across water and wastewater projects in the UK. You will oversee the full lifecycle from surveys to handover and work closely with civil, process, electrical and H&S teams to ensure integrated delivery.

You will guide procurement, manage budgets and resources, visit sites to resolve issues, and build strong client relationships while ensuring health, safety and environmental standards are met.

Qualifications

• Degree in Mechanical or Civil Engineering required.
• Chartered Engineer status or working towards preferred.
• Strong commercial acumen and ability to manage budgets/timelines/resources.
• Confident collaboration across multiple disciplines in a multidisciplinary environment.
• Strong analytical and problem-solving skills with a track record of resolving technical issues.
• Knowledge of health, safety and environmental standards in water and wastewater.
• Proficiency with information management systems and design software such as AutoCAD or Revit.

Responsibilities

• Lead design and engineering delivery across water and wastewater projects.
• Oversee the full project lifecycle, including surveys, design development, construction, commissioning, and handover.
• Work closely with civil, process, electrical, and H&S teams to ensure integrated delivery.
• Guide procurement and equipment selection, factoring lead times into the project programme.
• Coordinate external designers and subcontractors to ensure work aligns with project objectives and quality standards.
• Carry out site visits to monitor progress and resolve technical issues.
• Build and maintain strong client relationships throughout the project lifecycle.
• Ensure consistent health, safety, and environmental compliance across delivery.
• Prepare project reports and status updates, flagging key risks and milestones.
• Feed lessons learned into continuous improvement across the business.
