Job summary

Adecco is recruiting for a Plant Site Operative in Cheltenham, Gloucestershire. You will support the day-to-day operation of the site's Water Treatment Plant, ensuring machinery and environmental processes run safely and efficiently.

The role is permanent and full-time, with Monday–Friday 7:00am–3:00pm and additional weekend hours on a rotation. Full training will be provided, and you will develop technical, mechanical and environmental skills.

Qualifications

• Forklift truck (FLT) operating experience is essential.
• Must have your own transport to Cheltenham site.
• enjoys working outdoors and in varying weather conditions.
• Hands-on approach with practical tasks and problem solving.
• Mechanical aptitude and interest in understanding machinery.

Responsibilities

• Carry out daily inspections and maintenance checks on plant machinery and equipment.
• Monitor equipment performance, take readings and record results.
• Identify faults, investigate issues and assist with repairs.
• Raise maintenance requests and minimise equipment downtime.
• Maintain spare parts register and ensure essential spares are available.
• Develop understanding of plant operation and equipment.
• Assist with water quality monitoring and environmental compliance tasks.
• Support waste handling and site operations in a safe manner.
• Follow health and safety procedures and assist with risk assessments.
