Job summary

Pertemps Newcastle is seeking a hands-on Production Operative for a full-time, seven-month contract in Thornaby-on-Tees. Roles run Monday to Friday, 8:00am–4:00pm, with responsibilities across water treatment processes, monitoring equipment and ensuring quality and safety standards.

The successful candidate will operate, monitor and maintain treatment systems, carry out routine maintenance, keep accurate records, and work closely with maintenance teams to support reliable site operations.

Responsibilities

• Operate and monitor water treatment processes from raw water to final product.
• Adjust treatment processes, including chemical dosing, to optimise performance and maintain water quality.
• Analyse operational data to support process improvements.
• Carry out routine maintenance, inspections and calibration of equipment.
• Maintain accurate site records and documentation.
• Monitor pumps, valves, instrumentation and SCADA systems.
