South Staffordshire Water is seeking a reliable Production Operative to join the operations team. The role involves hands-on work at water treatment and distribution facilities, both indoors and outdoors, ensuring safe operation and maintenance of essential infrastructure.

You will carry out inspections, manage chemical deliveries, travel between sites, and support sludge treatment processes while maintaining strong health and safety standards. Training is provided for relevant qualifications.

Qualifications

• Experience handling and storing chemicals safely.
• Understanding of basic hydraulic principles.
• Experience undertaking site, grounds or asset maintenance activities.
• Ability to work safely in an operational environment and follow established procedures.
• Full UK driving licence.
• Basic IT skills and confidence using digital systems and mobile devices.
• Strong teamwork and communication skills.
• Ability to work independently and manage a varied workload.
• Previous experience within the water or utilities industry.
• NVQ Level 2 in Water Process Operations (or equivalent).
• IOSH Managing Safely qualification.
• EUSR National Water Hygiene Card.
• Experience working on operational treatment, distribution or production assets.
• Confined Space Training.

Responsabilités

• Carry out routine inspections to ensure equipment and sites are operating effectively.
• Maintain housekeeping standards, including site and tank cleaning.
• Receive and safely manage chemical deliveries.
• Travel between sites to perform inspections and maintenance.
• Take ownership of tools, equipment and vehicles and keep them well maintained.
• Undertake grounds maintenance and landscaping across sites.
• Support sludge treatment processes in the water treatment cycle.
• Communicate professionally with colleagues, contractors, customers and the public.
• Follow health, safety and environmental procedures to ensure a safe working environment.
