Job summary

South West Water Limited is seeking a practical Planned Maintenance Operative to join our Mechanical & Electrical team. You will perform planned preventative maintenance across wastewater treatment sites and pumping stations to maximise asset availability and reliability while adhering to safety procedures.

The role offers training and development, and opportunities to build technical knowledge through hands-on work with maintenance teams.

Qualifications

• NVQ Level 2/3 in Mechanical Engineering or equivalent preferred.
• GCSEs including Maths/English/Science at grade 4 or above preferred.
• Willingness to achieve the NVQ within a set timeframe.

Responsibilities

• Carrying out planned preventative maintenance on mechanical assets.
• Performing routine inspections, lubrication, fluid checks and equipment adjustments.
• Identifying asset defects and escalating issues before failures.
• Applying first-line maintenance techniques to improve asset reliability.
• Maintaining accurate maintenance records and data.
• Supporting asset data improvements through MADE system.
