Job summary

SOCOTEC Building Control Ltd is seeking a Water Treatment Consultant to join our Water Services Operations team. The role is ideally based in the East Midlands but we would consider any location in the UK, with a focus on water treatment compliance for key client contracts.

You will work independently and with colleagues to analyse water systems, provide recommendations and ensure contractual obligations are met, while building strong client relationships and growing the business.

Qualifications

• Science or engineering background or equivalent industry experience in water treatment.
• Comprehensive knowledge of water hygiene and traditional water treatment practices.
• Experience carrying out on-site analysis of cooling systems, steam boilers and industrial water treatment systems.
• Excellent communication and relationship-building skills with a strong client focus.
• Track record of meeting or exceeding targets while identifying opportunities for business growth.
• Ability to work independently, manage time effectively and maintain attention to detail.
• MOD Security Clearance.

Responsibilities

• Support existing clients with water treatment compliance and contractual obligations.
• Undertake on-site water analysis using test kits for client contracts.
• Monitor and interpret results from cooling systems, steam boilers and industrial water treatment systems.
• Provide clear verbal and written recommendations based on analytical findings.
• Manage client relationships at all levels to ensure satisfaction and retention.
• Identify opportunities to add value to contracts through consultancy and account management.
• Liaise with internal teams to ensure successful delivery of requirements.
• Manage workload and diary to deliver efficient and responsive service.
