Job summary

SOCOTEC UK & Ireland is seeking a Water Treatment Consultant to deliver water treatment consultancy and compliance services across locations, with a focus on client relationships and on-site analysis.

The role requires a background in industrial water treatment, water hygiene knowledge, and the ability to work independently while supporting contractual obligations and growth opportunities.

Qualifications

• A science or engineering qualification, or equivalent industry experience within the water treatment sector.
• Comprehensive knowledge of water hygiene and traditional water treatment practices.
• Experience carrying out on-site analysis of cooling systems, steam boilers and industrial water treatment systems.
• Excellent communication and relationship-building skills with a strong client focus.
• A proven track record of meeting or exceeding targets while identifying opportunities for business growth.
• The ability to work independently, manage your own time effectively and maintain excellent attention to detail.

Responsibilities

• Supporting existing clients with water treatment compliance and delivering contractual obligations.
• Undertaking on-site water analysis using test kits across a range of key client contracts.
• Monitoring and interpreting results from cooling systems, steam boilers and general industrial water treatment systems.
• Providing clear verbal and written recommendations based on analytical findings.
• Managing client relationships at all levels to ensure excellent client satisfaction and long-term retention.
• Identifying opportunities to add value to existing contracts through consultancy and account management.
• Liaising effectively with internal teams to ensure the successful delivery of contractual requirements.
• Managing your own workload and diary effectively to deliver an efficient and responsive service.

We are seeking a proactive, reliable, and client-focused Water Treatment Consultant to join our Water Services Operations team. In this role, you'll need the confidence to work independently while building strong relationships with clients and colleagues alike. A background in industrial water treatment, together with comprehensive knowledge of water hygiene and compliance, is essential to thrive in this position.
