Job description

Water Technician - South West Water

We're seeking a dedicated Water Technician to join our Natural Resources, Nuclear & Networks division, based in Exeter. This role involves travel across the picturesque, coastal Southwest region, with a company vehicle provided.

Location: Exeter, with regional travel

Contract: Permanent – Full time

About the division

Our division focuses on bringing the built environment to life by maintaining reliable and high-quality drinking water and wastewater services. You will work on our Southwest Water contract, supporting repairs and maintenance activities.

Responsibilities
  • Support schemes including mains laying, pressure management, district metering, and large mains repairs within a team that values collaboration and safety.
  • Perform manual tasks such as site setup, excavation, and installation of water fittings.
  • Undertake planned or reactive water service work, including large diameter mains.
  • Maintain productivity within set timescales and targets.
  • Update relevant documentation using a tablet.
  • Participate in a rapid response team to deliver and restore clean water efficiently.
Candidate requirements
  • Previous utilities experience.
  • Valid Full Drivers Licence.
  • Willingness to upskill; comprehensive training will be provided.
