Job summary

The City of Fort Worth Water Department, Plant Operations Division, seeks a Water Systems Supervisor to supervise, participate in, and coordinate the work of staff responsible for diagnosing and repairing equipment at the city's water and wastewater treatment plants, dryer facility and related facilities. The role coordinates activities with other divisions and provides staff support to management.

Minimum qualifications include a High School Diploma/GED, five years of experience in repair

Qualifications

• High School Diploma or GED required.
• Five years of experience in repair, service or maintenance of equipment and systems.
• Valid Texas driver's license.
• Must pass drug screen and physical screening.
• Certification from TCEQ in water/wastewater (preferred).

Responsibilities

• Supervise, oversee and coordinate daily work by assignment of tasks and evaluations.
• Supervise staff responsible for maintenance, repair, and technical services for potable water and wastewater systems.
• Assist in requisitioning materials, supplies, and preparing specifications for equipment and contracts.
• Inspect maintenance, installation and repair of systems and provide guidance to staff.
• Maintain diesel or multi-fuel engines and electrical distribution systems as needed.
• Coordinate with other divisions and outside agencies; prepare reports and correspondence.
• Maintain records and progress updates for plant facilities and equipment.
• Perform other related duties as required.
