Job summary

The Cleveland Division of Water is seeking a Water Service Investigator to respond to customer complaints, investigate distribution issues, and assist in remediating water system problems. The role requires hands-on field work, map reading, and equipment operation across various distribution assets.

You will join a team focused on prompt response to emergencies, accurate documentation, and adherence to safety protocols in all weather conditions and shifts.

Qualifications

• High School Diploma or GED required.
• Three years of full-time paid distribution maintenance field operations and repairs experience, including two years of water pipe repair.
• Must be able to lift and carry 75 pounds.
• A valid State of Ohio Driver’s License required. Water Distribution Operator’s License preferred.

Responsibilities

• Investigates, diagnoses, and remediates customer complaints related to water distribution.
• Responds to water distribution emergencies and prioritizes tasks; reads maps and uses a computer.
• Performs repairs and checks on distribution appurtenances and related equipment.
• Ensures proper documentation and communication of activities and conditions.
