Water Resources Graduate Engineer – Dams & Reservoirs (Hybrid)

Job summary

AECOM is seeking a Graduate Engineer to contribute to reservoir and dam projects across the UK, including safety upgrades and new storage schemes. You will work with a multidisciplinary team, applying hydraulic, structural, geotechnical and environmental design knowledge through calculations, reports and software.

You will gain hands-on experience on feasibility studies, design preparation and site visits, with learning and development actively supported in a collaborative culture.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in Civil Engineering, Environmental Engineering, Water Resources Engineering or related field.
• Master’s degree in above subjects would be an advantage.
• Water-related modules or relevant work experience would be an advantage.
• Good written and verbal communication skills for technical stakeholders.

Responsibilities

• Undertake numerical analysis using specialist software for dams and reservoirs.
• Keep up-to-date with regulatory legislation and guidelines affecting design work.
• Carry out research and apply theory to new situations to improve project delivery.
• Undertake feasibility studies considering technical performance, health and safety, cost and environmental benefits.
• Prepare designs, drawings, specifications and contracts.
• Write clear reports and prepare presentations for colleagues, clients and regulators.
• Join site visits to support dam inspections and understand asset performance.

Education

Bachelor’s degree in Civil Engineering

Master’s degree in Civil/Water related subjects (advantage)
