Job summary

Jobtailor is seeking a hands-on maintenance technician to carry out repairs and scheduled maintenance on mechanical assets at water treatment facilities. The role involves operating water recycling assets and ensuring environmental protection while supporting local communities.

Ideal candidates will hold NVQ Level 2/3 or an equivalent apprenticeship, have a full UK driving licence, and bring experience with pumps, gearboxes and control/telemetry systems.

Qualifications

• At least an NVQ level 2 or 3 (mechanical/engineering) qualification or equivalent.
• Completion of a relevant apprenticeship is advantageous.
• Full UK driving licence is required.
• Strong mechanical knowledge is essential.
• Experience with mechanical control systems, telemetry systems, pumps, gearboxes and general mechanical/electrical plant maintenance would be advantageous.

Responsibilities

• Carry out general repairs.
• Investigate and rectify faults.
• Complete scheduled maintenance to ensure asset reliability.
• Operate and maintain water recycling assets day to day.
• Maintain equipment installed at water treatment works.
• Carry out planned and reactive maintenance on mechanical assets.
• Help protect the environment and serve local communities.
