We have a full-time, permanent opportunity for a Water Quality Technician based in Plymouth. You will receive a competitive starting salary of £25,274 per annum plus a £2 supplement for working a 1-in-5 weekend pattern. The role offers progression up to £29,518 per annum through a Water Quality Technician levels 1-5 scheme, along with excellent benefits.

About the role: You will undertake sampling and on-site analysis of drinking water, assist in investigating breaches of regulatory standards, and address customer inquiries regarding water quality.

What you’ll be doing:

1. Undertaking sampling duties from source to tap to meet regulatory, operational, and customer requirements
2. Complying with health, safety, and security policies
3. Planning and delivering sampling, monitoring, and support activities
4. Supporting Water Quality staff with sampling activities
5. Suggesting improvements to Quality Management Systems
6. Maintaining high standards of customer contact and company image
7. Monitoring trigger points and reporting promptly
8. Supporting during events and incidents
9. Helping resolve customer contacts efficiently
10. Utilizing resources cost-effectively and maintaining equipment and records
11. Reporting on-site asset conditions

What we are looking for:

1. 5 GCSEs or equivalent, including Maths, English, and Science at grade C or above
2. A full UK driving license
3. Ability to follow procedures precisely
4. Excellent attention to detail and record-keeping skills
5. A logical approach and initiative
6. Good geographical knowledge of the Southwest and willingness to work outdoors
7. Ability to meet targets for time, cost, quality, and performance
8. Understanding of ISO 9001 and ISO 17025 standards
9. Proficiency in MS Office and computer systems
