Job summary

Affinity Water is seeking a Field Sampling Technician to collect water samples from treatment works, reservoirs and sites around Staines-upon-Thames. You will work independently, manage your schedule, and interact with customers to access properties for sampling.

When indoors, you’ll perform data input and admin tasks using MS Excel, with standby shifts to cover weekends and out-of-hours issues. The role emphasizes time management, a strong environmental interest, and the ability to work

Qualifications

• Full UK driving licence required.
• 3 GCSEs with grade 4 (C) or above.
• Ability to perform manual handling safely and competently.
• Competent in use of Microsoft Office applications.
• Keen interest in the environment and water industry.

Responsibilities

• Visit water treatment works, reservoirs and Affinity Water sites to collect water samples.
• Collect samples across the supply area including residential properties with access.
• Input data and record samples in internal systems.
• Work mainly outdoors with some site-based admin tasks.
• Participate in weekend and out-of-hours standby rota with separate pay.
