Job summary

WSP is seeking a senior water quality professional to lead technical delivery on national-scale projects and mentor junior staff. You will shape scopes, manage risks and financials, and help develop innovative water quality solutions for clients across the UK.

You will contribute to winning proposals, engage with stakeholders, and ensure high-quality client deliverables with clear data visualisation. A strong regulatory background and project management experience are essential.

Qualifications

  • Understanding UK river, lake and regulatory protection policies.
  • Knowledge of surface water quality and catchment modelling.
  • Strong understanding of UK water quality framework and regulations.
  • Experience on national infrastructure projects (DCOs, RAPID, National Highways).
  • Proven project management, from initiation to delivery.
  • Ability to identify client needs and win work.
  • Excellent report-writing and analytical skills.

Responsibilities

  • Lead technical delivery of water quality projects.
  • Direct projects including financial control and quality assurance.
  • Mentor and supervise junior colleagues.
  • Develop a programme of water quality training with the Service Lead.
  • Agree scopes of services with the team.
  • Prepare high-quality bid proposals.
  • Produce client-facing deliverables with data visualisation.
  • Collaborate with other sectors to cover water quality across projects.
  • Promote a safety-first attitude in line with policy.
