Job summary

WSP is seeking an Associate Director/Technical Director to lead water quality projects within our Catchment Science team in the UK. You will drive technical delivery, manage projects end-to-end, and mentor junior staff while contributing to business development and bid opportunities.

You will collaborate across disciplines, develop training initiatives, and ensure high-quality client deliverables with clear data interpretation.

Qualifications

• Degree-level qualification in geography, geology, geochemistry, earth/environmental science, civil engineering or similar.
• Higher degree in water quality or related field is desirable but not essential.
• Chartered status or working towards chartership with a relevant professional body.

Responsibilities

• Lead the technical delivery of water quality projects across theCatchment Science portfolio.
• Provide project direction including financial control and quality assurance.
• Mentor and supervise junior staff, with potential for people management.
• Develop and deliver water quality training with the team lead.
• Define scopes of services with the Water Quality Service Lead and bid teams.
• Prepare high-quality bid proposals and innovative client solutions.
• Produce client-facing deliverables with clear data interpretation and visuals.
• Collaborate with other sectors to deliver water quality outcomes on diverse projects.
• Promote a safety-first culture in line with WSP policies.
