Job summary

WSP is seeking a senior water quality specialist to lead technical delivery across river, lake and regulatory aspects. You will manage projects from inception to completion, ensuring quality, budget and schedule, and mentor junior colleagues.

The role involves developing training programmes, scoping services, and producing high-quality client and public-facing deliverables, with strong data visualisation and communication of complex water quality data.

Qualifications

• Degree-level qualifications in a relevant subject (e.g., geography, geology, geochemistry, earth/environmental science, civil engineering or similar).
• Higher degree in a relevant discipline (e.g., river or lake water quality, water chemistry, hydrogeochemistry, water management, environmental science, or similar), desirable but not essential.
• Working towards or having gained chartership with a relevant professional body.

Responsibilities

• Lead the technical delivery of water quality projects.
• Direct projects including financial and change control and QA.
• Mentor junior colleagues and support potential management.
• Develop water quality training programs with the Service Lead.
• Develop scopes of services with the team.
• Prepare bid proposals and deliver innovative client solutions.
• Produce high-quality client/public-facing deliverables with clear data visuals.
• Collaborate across sectors to deliver water quality on diverse projects.
• Promote a safety-first culture in line with policy.
