Job summary

Omega invites applications for a Chemistry Analyst in Sittingbourne, working Monday to Friday, 08:30–17:00 in a UKAS-accredited laboratory. You will support water testing services, process samples, and ensure documentation and LIMS entries are accurate.

The role emphasizes attention to detail, teamwork, and adherence to quality standards. Immediate start and a stable, quality-driven environment are offered.

Qualifications

• Excellent communication skills and confidence when dealing with customers.
• Able to work well in a team with an open, approachable character.
• A good eye for detail and understanding of business processes.
• Adopt a methodical approach to work with accuracy and attention to detail.
• Organise and prioritise workload with flexibility to respond to changing demands.
• High degree of computer literacy including Excel and Word.
• A chemistry degree is beneficial but not essential.
• Experience in a laboratory environment is beneficial but not essential.

Responsibilities

• Process water samples and read results.
• Assist in day-to-day management of the laboratory.
• Ensure all work is carried out to a high standard and in a timely manner.
• Receive samples from customers and process them promptly.
• Follow documented procedures and update LIMS and paperwork accordingly.
• Maintain records and quality data.
• Comply with UKAS accreditation standards and Laboratory Quality Manual.
• Maintain clean and orderly lab fittings and equipment.
• Perform tasks to the highest standard of lab practice.
• Handle other tasks as designated by the Line Manager.
