Job summary

City of Fort Worth is seeking a Quality Control Specialist for the Water Utility's Centralized Water Laboratory. The role focuses on quality control/assurance for water, wastewater, pretreatment and environmental testing to ensure accurate, compliant analytical services.

Requires a science degree, 3 years of lab/QA experience, valid driver’s license, and ability to pass a drug screen. Preferred experience with TNI/TCEQ, ISO 17025, and LIMS systems.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in a science field and three years of lab or QA experience.
• Valid Driver’s License and ability to pass a drug screen.
• Experience with regulatory standards (TNI, TCEQ) or ISO/IEC 17025 is preferred.

Responsibilities

• Develops and monitors the quality control/assurance plan for water, wastewater, pretreatment and environmental testing.
• Participates in audits, corrective/preventive actions, and studies to ensure regulatory compliance.
• Communicates effectively with internal and external customers and maintains records.
• Interprets lab test results and maintains documentation of monitoring activities.
• Maintains SOPs and manages controlled documents and archiving per regulations.
• Investigates water quality issues and assists users in resolving compliance concerns.
• Coordinates procurement and calibration of monitoring devices and support equipment.
• Performs other related duties as required.
