Job summary

United Living Group's United Infrastructure Services team in Wakefield is seeking a Water Service & Mains Team Leader for the Yorkshire Water project. You will lead on-site operations, ensure safety and regulatory compliance, and direct teams to install pipes, maintain assets and support client requirements.

The role demands hands-on experience in water utilities, strong safety leadership, and the listed qualifications.

Qualifications

  • Water Safety Passport (EUSR) required.
  • National Water Hygiene registration (EUSR) required.
  • NRSWA (Units 1-3 minimum) required.
  • CSCS card required.
  • Cat & Genny training/qualification required.

Responsibilities

  • Maintain own and others health and safety
  • Carry out safety checks and inspections to vehicles, plant, equipment and sites as instructed
  • Follow health and hygiene rules
  • Ensure that work is undertaken with due regard to the environment: prevent contamination to water supplies and water courses; maintain site cleanliness; prevent spills; minimise disturbance to members of the public; avoid damage to trees; dispose of waste only as authorised.
  • Excavate holes using safe digging methods to avoid damage to underground utility apparatus
  • Manhandle materials, plant and equipment
  • Install pipes and fittings to the appropriate standards ensuring, in particular, that good jointing and hygiene practices are followed
  • Drive Company vehicles with due regard to the Road Traffic Act and other road users for authorised business purposes
  • Operate mobile plant for authorised business purposes
  • Maintain site, vehicle, plant and equipment tidiness and security
  • Install and maintain road works to 'Chapter 8' standard
  • Assist members of the public, clients’ representatives and other officials in relation to Company business
  • Maintain safety, environmental and quality records
  • Report any accidents, near misses, faults, damages or defects using appropriate documentation
  • Undertake any other reasonable instructions given by management or supervision
