Job summary

A leading infrastructure provider based in Leeds is seeking skilled personnel to maintain health and safety while installing and maintaining utility infrastructure. The ideal candidate will have a Water Safety Passport and relevant registrations to ensure safety and compliance on site. Social Infrastructure – Our team of Social Infrastructure specialists revitalise homes and communities by carrying out a wide range of work, from retrofit to refurbishment, and maintenance.

Job Description
  • Maintain own and others health and safety
  • Carry out safety checks and inspections to vehicles, plant, equipment and sites as instructed
  • Follow health and hygiene rules
  • Ensure that work is undertaken with due regard to the environment: prevent contamination to water supplies and water courses; maintain site cleanliness; prevent spills; minimise disturbance to members of the public; avoid damage to trees; dispose of waste only as authorised.
  • Excavate holes using safe digging methods to avoid damage to underground utility apparatus
  • Manhandle materials, plant and equipment
  • Install pipes and fittings to the appropriate standards ensuring, in particular, that good jointing and hygiene practices are followed
  • Drive Company vehicles with due regard to the Road Traffic Act and other road users for authorised business purposes
  • Operate mobile plant for authorised business purposes
  • Maintain site, vehicle, plant and equipment tidiness and security
  • Install and maintain road works to ‘Chapter 8’ standard
  • Assist members of the public, clients’ representatives and other officials in relation to Company business
  • Maintain safety, environmental and quality records
  • Report any accidents, near misses, faults, damages or defects using appropriate documentation
  • Undertake any other reasonable instructions given by management or supervision
