Job summary

Southern Water is seeking a Water Network Inspector to join the frontline operations in Hampshire. You will help ensure a continuous supply of clean water, respond to incidents, perform inspections, plan shutdowns, and take ownership of incident resolution across the distribution network.

The role involves outdoor work in all weather, working with a team and possibly traveling within the county. A full UK driving licence is essential, and progression opportunities are available within the

Qualifications

• Valid UK manual driving licence is essential.
• Comfortable working outdoors in all weather conditions.
• Able to work effectively on your own and take ownership of tasks.
• Willingness to travel across the county as required.

Responsibilities

• Provide courteous and efficient service to all customers, from households to industrial sites.
• Plan, organise, and execute shutdowns to the distribution system to minimise disruption and maintain supply.
• Ensure water quality protection procedures are followed during mains repair work.
• Act as first point of contact during emergencies, determining actions and escalating when needed.
• Carry out inspections and resolve customer-related incidents where possible.
• Identify when issues should be referred to service partners or internal specialists.
