Job summary

Severn Trent Water is recruiting a Water Construction Technician to operate assets during large-scale mains renewal projects across the Midlands. You will support the construction team, undertake site work from early morning to late afternoon, and ensure safe delivery within budget.

Responsibilities include pre-site checks with the Network Construction Manager, liaising with Network Control, and performing valve operations, chlorination and sampling in line with SOPs.

Qualifications

• Full UK manual driving licence.
• National Water Hygiene and NRSWA qualifications.
• Experience in utility construction on-site.

Responsibilities

• Perform pre-site checks with the Network Construction Manager and identify health‑check assets for risk & contingency docs.
• Coordinate with Network Control at key scheme milestones and support the Lead Operative on-site.
• Carry out valving due diligence, including chlorination and sampling of mains and services per SOPs.
• Oversee on-site operational activities such as flushing and cleansing of water mains and hydrants, and manage valve operations.
