Job summary

Severn Trent is recruiting for a Network Construction Operative to deliver large-scale mains renewal and on-site construction with a focus on safety and efficiency. You will work in a team of six, handling excavation, installation, testing and commissioning of new mains and assets while maintaining service to customers.

The role requires a full driving license and typically involves early starts, a 42-hour week, and on-site work across a defined region.

Qualifications

• Full driving license required.
• National Water Hygiene and NRSWA preferred with utility industry experience.
• Good communication skills and ability to work in a team.

Responsibilities

• Identify and mitigate hazards with daily risk assessments.
• Safe location and avoidance of underground utilities; manage asbestos disposal.
• Liaise with customers and maintain supply with required riders/overlanders.
• Implement trenchless solutions to reduce disruption and cost.
• Standby duties as required.
