AtkinsRéalis is seeking a highly experienced Technical Director - Mechanical Engineer to lead the water engineering practice in the UK. The role focuses on delivering safe, sustainable, and resilient water infrastructure across regulated and non-regulated programmes.

You will provide technical leadership across a broad portfolio, develop client relationships, win work, and mentor engineers while working on AMP8 scale projects and major resilience schemes.

Qualifications

• Extensive experience in mechanical engineering within the water sector.
• Proven track record of developing client relationships, winning work and growing business.

Responsibilities

• Provide strategic technical leadership and project oversight across water and wastewater programmes.
• Provide technical assurance, quality oversight, and engineering governance for water projects.
• Act as the technical authority for mechanical engineering in water, guiding teams and ensuring compliance.
• Lead complex engineering decisions, championing sustainable, resilient, whole-life solutions.
