Job summary

Carrington West in Glasgow is seeking a Quantity Surveyor to join an established commercial team supporting major water and wastewater infrastructure projects across Scotland. You will manage the commercial and financial aspects of capital delivery programmes, ensuring on-time delivery, cost control and adherence to contractual requirements.

Qualifications

• Degree in Quantity Surveying or HNC/HND in Civil/Mech Eng with relevant experience.
• Experience in commercial management or quantity surveying in construction or infrastructure.
• Strong financial analysis, forecasting and reporting skills.
• Ability to monitor costs, investigate variances and improve value.
• Understanding of contractual compliance and procurement processes.
• Collaborative with commercial, operational, delivery and procurement teams.
• Strong communication, organizational and analytical skills.
• Proactive approach to problem solving, cost control and value optimization.
• Full, valid UK driving licence.

Responsibilities

• Managing the commercial and financial administration of water and wastewater infrastructure projects.
• Monitor project costs, budgets and financial performance with operational and delivery teams.
• Preparing accurate cost forecasts, estimates and commercial reports.
• Identifying and investigating cost variances, financial risks and opportunities to improve project value.
• Supporting the development and implementation of procurement strategies.
• Ensuring contractual obligations and commercial processes are followed.
• Monitoring project expenditure and providing clear financial analysis to support informed decision-making.
• Identifying opportunities to maximise value, improve efficiency and protect commercial margins.
• Collaborating with procurement, commercial and operational colleagues to support effective project delivery.
• Providing commercial guidance and reporting to help ensure projects are delivered within agreed financial parameters.
