Job summary

AECOM is hiring a Project Manager to lead water infrastructure programmes in the UK & Ireland. You will oversee multidisciplinary teams of engineers, planners and environmental specialists, guiding projects from concept through procurement to construction.

You’ll work with clients and regulators, manage budgets and risks, and drive delivery while maintaining high safety and quality standards. AECOM supports hybrid working and ongoing professional development.

Qualifications

• A degree in civil engineering or project management is required.
• Chartered Engineer status with ICE, CIWEM or equivalent is expected.
• Experience in water or wastewater sector is preferred.
• Proven track record leading infrastructure projects from concept through delivery.

Responsibilities

• Manage infrastructure projects from concept through design, procurement and construction, ensuring alignment with client objectives and regulatory requirements.
• Oversee schedules, budgets, resources, cost forecasting and risk across the project lifecycle to ensure timely, cost‑effective delivery.
• Coordinate clients, regulators, contractors and internal teams, with regular progress and financial updates.
• Ensure compliance with environmental, health and safety standards and industry codes; secure permits and approvals.
