Job summary

Binnies UK, part of the RSK Group, is seeking a Mechanical Design Engineer in Swansea to help shape water infrastructure. You will develop innovative mechanical designs for clean water and wastewater projects, produce drawings and calculations, and coordinate interfaces with other disciplines.

The role requires a Mechanical Engineering degree and experience in water or related industries. You’ll work with project managers, clients, and partners, mentor junior engineers, manage budgets, and

Qualifications

• Degree in Mechanical Engineering (or equivalent).
• Experience in water, wastewater, or related industries.
• Knowledge of treatment processes, equipment selection, and design principles.
• Familiarity with CDM, procurement, and document control.
• Strong communication, teamwork, and digital skills.

Responsibilities

• Develop innovative mechanical designs for clean water and wastewater infrastructure.
• Produce high-quality drawings, reports, calculations, and schedules.
• Coordinate multidisciplinary designs and manage technical interfaces.
• Work closely with project managers, engineers, JV partners, and clients.
• Review bids, subcontractor designs, and provide on-site technical support.
• Mentor junior team members and help shape our future talent.
• Oversee budgets, schedules, and deliverables to ensure quality outcomes.
