Job summary

Binnies UK is seeking a Mechanical Design Engineer to shape water infrastructure across the UK. Work on clean water and wastewater projects, producing drawings, reports, calculations and coordinating interfaces.

You will collaborate with project managers and clients, mentor junior engineers, manage budgets and schedules, and contribute to high-quality outcomes while advancing your career in a purpose-driven culture.

Qualifications

• Degree in Mechanical Engineering (or equivalent)
• Experience in water, wastewater, or related industries
• Familiarity with CDM, procurement, and document control
• Strong communication and teamwork skills

Responsibilities

• Develop innovative mechanical designs for clean water and wastewater infrastructure
• Produce high-quality drawings, reports, calculations, and schedules
• Coordinate multidisciplinary designs and manage technical interfaces
• Work closely with project managers, engineers, JV partners, and clients
• Review bids, subcontractor designs, and provide on-site technical support
• Mentor junior team members and help shape our future talent
• Oversee budgets, schedules, and deliverables to ensure quality outcomes
